Is Bravo Casting For The Real Housewives Of Chicago? Here Is Everything Fans Needs To Know

Is Bravo adding a new city to their Real Housewives franchise? A new rumor has started to swirl that the network is casting for the Real Housewives of Chicago thanks to a short video clip that recently popped up on social media, but fans are arguing about just how recent the footage is.

In the brief clip, someone says she’s “trying out for Real Housewives of Chicago,” and then the camera zooms in on a framed sign that appears to be a Bravo casting call. However, it isn’t clear if this clip is a few days old or a few years old.

Executive producer Andy Cohen revealed late last year on an episode of Watch What Happens Live that they have attempted to cast in Chicago in the past, but “just didn’t get it right.” Both Jenny McCarthy and Brielle Biermann have asked Cohen for an RHOChicago, but so far it’s just a rumor.

“I tweeted (Cohen) actually, and I said ‘Ohmigosh, let’s do a Real Housewives of Chicago. I’ll be the Kim, and all we have to do is find a Sheree and Nene.’” Biermann told The Chicago Tribune in 2017.

McCarthy also loves the idea because she is from Chicago, and she told Cohen on WWHL that if she was part of the cast her tagline would be “I might have fake t*ts, but I’m a real b*tch.”

It would make sense for the franchise to dive into the Midwest since they already have the East and West coasts pretty much covered. The closest Bravo has gotten to the Midwest is Real Housewives of Dallas, but most Texans will tell anyone who listens that Texas is its own country and quite different from other places in the United States.

Cohen is a Midwesterner who was born and raised in St. Louis, so there is no doubt he would like to expand his successful Housewives franchise into a city like Chicago if he can find the right cast.

Fans will just have to wait and see if RHOChicago is just a rumor or if it will become a reality.
